EARTHKEEPER
by: Gary Granada

You were meant to be free, as wild as the sea
Just like an eagle soaring high
Nesting on the trees that touch the sky
You have the right to this place like all human race.

You are no less than a child of the Maker
You're an earthkeeper of the land of your birth.
You were created to be a creator.
You're the life bearer of Mother Earth.

You're holding the key between you and me.
Life is the choice we need to make.
Peace is the way we must take
Where there is waiting and pain

To heal and sustain.
You were so called to be a namegiver.
You're a defender of the nameless and the weak.
You were so pieced to become a peacemaker.
To make or unmake hangs on you.

And for the sake of the futures
Of our sons and daughters,
In the name of all creatures,
Give survival a chance.

You are no less than the child of the Maker.
You're an earthkeeper of the land of your birth.
You were created to be a creator.
You're the life bearer of Mother Earth.

You're the defender of the nameless and the weak.
You were so pieced to become a peacemaker.
To make or unmake,
To do or undo hangs on you.

ADDITIONAL INFO FOR JOURN EXAM

YOU might wanna get a copy of this. it will be essential for the Journalism exam tomorrow.

BACKGROUND
Responding to the challenge to constantly intensify the school’s curricular offerings for the total development of the learners, St. Paul College, Pasig has pushed the borders of mainstream instruction through the integration of the Giftedness Instruction for Talent (GIFT) Development Program in its curriculum.
More than a replacement of the Clubs and Organizations area, GIFT is an innovation that serves to intensify the student activity programs and seeks to develop students’ innate talents through well-structured learning programs.
The program was initially conceptualized by the Directress Sister Teresita Baricaua who conducted initial brainstorming and conceptualization with the members of the Curriculum Enrichment Board (representing the top and middle level administrators of the three departments)
In February 2006, an educational trip of the faculty and personnel called Lakbay Aral sa Panay Island (LASPIs) paved the way to observe Iloilo National….
The Curriculum Enrichment Board head Mrs. Debbie Grafil, furthermore initiated research and consultation with experts in relation to the curriculum framework. The then High School Chairman of Clubs and Organizations Mr. Ruben Velarde Jr., who assisted Grafil, led the team of faculty members who went through Immersions and observations at Philippine High School for the Arts in Makiling, Laguna.
Before the School Year ended in March 2006, Dr. Riza Amaguin, principal of the INHS, conducted a talk on integrating talent development in the curriculum. She presented and discussed INH’s “School within a School” program to the SPCP administrators, faculty members and parents who were also given an orientation on the GIFT program by Sister Teresita and Mrs. Grafil.

OVERVIEW
The Giftedness Instruction for Talent (GIFT) Development Program is a curricular innovation aimed at discovering, rediscovering and honing the students’ innate talents in the various fields of the arts and sciences.
Touted as the country’s most comprehensive talent development program integrated in basic education, it features 29 specialized courses in 7 talent learning centers. An intensification of the student activity programs of the school, it provides varied opportunities and more meaningful learning experiences for students to hone their talents and skills through well-directed course modules designed and implemented by experts.
G the Editorial
To make learning truly functional and relevant, each course offering is designed such that the development of skills is clearly reflected in each grade or year level. Such developmental process starts from the lowest or earliest level it is ideally taught.

Apostles Creed

Amen.

Aba Po Santa Mariang Hari

BIO: GUIDELINES FOR LAB REPORT & other DEADLINES

DEAR CLASSMATES, Here are the guidelines for the LABREP and other DEADLINES. Please read and take note of the following:

BIOLOGY: GUIDELINES FOR LAB REPORT

  • Formal Laboratory Report will be considered as 50% of your laboratory grade for this quarter.

  • May be handwritten or computerized.

  • Follow the format stated in the Academic Guide.

  • The title of the laboratory report is the same as the title of the worksheet.

  • You will be making Formal Laboratory Report #1.

  • Use long bond paper, Arial, size 11, 1 1/2 line spacing between lines to provide spaces where the teacher can write her comments/corrections.

  • Avoid using bullets if they are not needed.

  • Have a uniform margin for both sides of the paper (justify the ends of the sentences)

  • Use black ink only.

  • Paraphrase and cite the source of any idea/concept that you got from something/somebody other than yourself.

  • DO NOT JUST COPY AND PASE THINGS FROM THE INTERNET/BOOKS. Use your own words in explaining.

PARTS OF THE LAB REPORT:

Problem (2pts)

  • Should NOT be answerable by yes or no.
  • Clear, SPECIFIC and would take into consideration almost everything that was done in the experiment.
  • Assume that you still don't know what the results would be. It is safe to make a "what" question based on the type of data that you have gathered from the experiment.

Hypothesis (1pt)

  • Make a single statement that serves as a possible answer to your problem. Make it specific.

Observations (2pts)

  • Create four illustrations of the set-ups when they were placed in their respective areas before and after 24 hours (same as the boxes provided in the worksheet)
  • LABEL each part of the set-up and don't forget to add COLOR to show the changes in color of the solutions.
  • You may wish to provide a short paragraph to describe the changes that were observed in the set-ups.

Analysis and Interpretation of Results (5pts)

  • ANALYZE and INTERPRET your results! Research on the scientific explanations for some of the steps done in the experiment as well as reasons that will explain the changes that you have observed. Things to consider for this experiment are the following:
  1. What is the purpose of using bromthymol blue? What type of solution is it?
  2. Why does bromthymol blue change its color? When is it blue? or yellow? or green?
  3. What change did you make in the solution when you blew air into it? What substance was introduced?
  4. What's the purpose of the leaf inside the bottle? What changes did that lead make in the solution?
  5. How are all these things related to the title of the experiment. Photosynthetic Process and Respiration?

Conclusion (1pt)

  • Make a brief, clear and specific statement that would summarize everything and answer the problem that you have stated.

Application (2pts)

  • In what aspect of your daily life can you apply the things that you have learned from the experiment and from the researches that you have done while analyzing your results? Provide at least two, well-explained applications.

References (2pts)

  • Includes the proper citation of any book, journal, website, and other reference material that you have used to make your report.
  • for a book: Author (SURNAME, Initials). Year of publication. Title of the book (italicized). Publisher: Place of publication.
  • for a website: Date accessed: name of website. *note: search engines (yahoo, google), notebook, labsheet, name of teacher/parent are never considered as reference materials.
  • More points are given if you use books/journals than using websites from the Internet alone.

Punctuality (3pts)

  • Lab reports are due one week after the date of the experiment was performed. Extra points will be given for those who submit earlier than the scheduled due date.

Folloing the correct format gives you 2 pts.

notes on CELL FUNCTIONS (BIO):
Nutrition- the process by which cells obtain food molecules to support their other activities.
Digestion- the process by which food particles are broken down into smaller, soluble units suitable for cell use with the help of enzymes.
Absorption- the process by which cells absorb from their environment water, minerals and other materials essential to life.
Biosynthesis- the process by which all cells organize complex chemicals from simple building units or substances.
Excretion- the process by which by-products of all cell activities which are not needed for further cell functioning are eliminated.
Egestion- the process by which insoluble, undigested particles are eliminated by the cell. These egested particles have not been a part of any cellular metabolism.
Secretion- the process by which substances that are synthesized by the cells are expelled from the membrane. The elimination process influences extracellular activities and helps in the functioning of the body.
Movement- a process which includes the locomotion of cell by means of special structures like cilia or flagella.
Irritability- the process by which cells respond or react to external factors or conditions around them. Cells can alter their functions in response to changes in their environment.
Respiration- the process of breaking down food molecules into chemical energy needed by all cells in order to function.
Reproduction- a process by which a cell copies or replicates its DNA and increases its number by cell division. In reproduction, cells give rise to new cells thereby making organisms grow.
